Tula Brewery with the annual design capacity of 5.5 mln. dal was built in 1974. On February 14, 1974 Tula brewers brewed the first batch of Barkhatnoye (Velvet) beer. In 1992 the brewery became TAOPIN joint-stock company, beer and beverages producer.
In 1997 Baltic Beverages Holding AB became one of the brewery shareholders. In 1999 the brewery’s controlling interest was purchased by Baltika Breweries and in 2002 the enterprise became a branch of Baltika Breweries receiving the name of Baltika-Tula. On November 1, 2017 top management of the company decided to return the enterprise its historical name of Tula Brewery.
Since 1999 substantial investments have been funneled into modernization of production. The total amount of investment exceeded USD 200 mln. The major projects were aimed at increasing the production capacity of the brewery.
New brewing lines, cylinder-conical tanks, bright beer vessels, equipment for non-alcoholic beer production, glass, can, PET and keg filling lines were installed at the brewery. Also, buildings of the boiler house, cooler-compressor plants, finished goods store and filtering department were renovated.
Since 2006 more than 40 million USD have been invested into the production modernization. Within the framework of the investment program the brewery has installed a new bottling line and filter equipment in the brewhouse, expanded the BBT department, installed additional equipment for beer production in one-liter cans, reconstructed the equipment of the elevator, expanded the warehouse for packaging and finished goods, purchased vehicles for products transportation, reconstructed water supply system, and constructed industrial wastes treatment facilities.
In 2014 the enterprise commissioned biological local treatment facilities (BLOS) for production waste water with the daily capacity of 6,500 cubic meters. This modern unit is unique primarily due to high level of waste water purification, process stability, and safety. The total amount of investments was approx. RUB 550 mln.
The company pays special attention to quality issues: breweries have state-of-the-art equipment, well-trained personnel, advanced quality management systems. Only the best raw materials are used in production.
Tula Brewery is one of the major taxpayers of Tula region.
Currently, Tula Brewery produces 40 beer brands. They are Baltika, Kuler, Bolshaya Kruzhka, Yarpivo, Zhigulevskoe, Tuborg and, of course Arsenalnoe – a Tula-origin brand. The brewery also produces non-alcoholic beverages: ‘Khlebny Krai’ kvass and Flash Up energy drink. Finished products are delivered from the brewery across the entire Central region of Russia.
The compensations and benefits provided to the company employees are one of the best in the region. They include voluntary medical insurance, additional sick leave benefits, food allowance, financial aid in cases of marriage, childbirth, anniversary, retirement, etc. A sports and recreation complex has been established for the employees on the premises.
Tula Brewery is actively involved in CSR events and social projects at the national and regional level. The company has been rendering charitable aid to institutions of healthcare, education, culture and social protection. Being one of the leaders of beer brewing industry in the region, our brewery sets high standards in industrial ecology, safety, corporate social responsibility.
Every year our employees eagerly participate in city ecological activities, and some of the activities are initiated by Tula Brewery staff themselves.
In 2012-2013 Baltika Brewery supported the regional project ‘Clean Banks and Berths’, initiated by Rosprirodnadzor (Federal Supervisory Natural Resources Management Service) of Tula region, More than 500 volunteers were engaged in the clean-up in Tula, Novomoskovsk, Zaoksk, Efremov, and Plavsk.
Our brewery is an active participant of national projects related to preventing beer sales to the underaged (Beer Patrol, Global Beer Responsibility Day) and preventing of drinking and driving (Drive Sober).
In order to promote and develop the culture of beer consumption, we initiate and conduct lectures under “Beer Sommelier’ educational project.
Our brewery is open for visitors. Since 2003 we have been conducting regular guided tours of our brewery, and everyone of legal age can sign up to visit Tula Brewery. About 5000 people visit our brewery every year.
