Cider – an alcoholic drink, that is technologically made through the natural juice fermentation, was first invented in England. In 55 year AD the Romans got acquainted with cider in one of the villages of the county of Kent, the citizens of which were drinking the tasty alcoholic drink made of apple. The traditional way of country life in regions of Great Britain rich with apple have formed the tradition of producing their own alcoholic drink, which was gently called ‘scrumpy’. This drink was popular as the sweet alternative to beer style ale and had even replaced water as refreshing drink, that was considered healthier, than drinking water. The traditional way of cider production is still actual. Cider is still appreciated for its natural fruit and refreshing taste.

Last years cider has become more requestive, experiencing revival of its popularity. Today it is the alternative to vine and beer as well as to low-alcoholic cocktails. Somersby, that was first produced in 2008 in Denmark and in recent years appeared in most countries of continental Europe, it is sold in 35 countries now.
