Baltika 3 won the silver award at the prestigious British competition – International Beer Challenge – in the Pilsner category.
This year, the International Beer Challenge (IBC Tasting Awards) was held in the UK for the 21st time. Currently it is one of the most highly reputed tasting competitions: a huge number of participants from more than 30 countries and 60 recognised international experts who choose the best varieties in the course of blind tasting. The final score of each sample depends on four criteria: taste, aroma, aftertaste and appearance.
IBC jury appreciated Baltika 3 classic light beer, and this brand received a silver medal in the Pilsner category. It should be noted that it is not the first prize that Baltika 3 won at this British competition – in 2015, the judges also awarded it the second most important award. At the same time, during its 26-year history, the brand has become the prize-winner of more than 30 international and national competitions.
Pavel Erankevich, Senior Strategy and National Brands Development Director, Baltika Breweries, part of the Carlsberg Group: "The secret of Baltika 3 beer success is simple — this brand contains only 100% malt, hops and water of the highest quality, which we carefully control. For example, we buy malting barley from reliable domestic farmers, and water is prepared for several hours, while passing through three filters. Close attention to detail allows us to keep the bar high and produce beer, which has been popular among connoisseurs for decades."
Samantha Halliday, Commercial Director, Agile Media Ltd (International Beer Challenge): "International Beer Challenge is a competition in which we strive to identify and reward the best beer brands from around the world. This year, we did it for the 21st time. Each prize-winner of the International Beer Challenge passes through the strict and careful selection involving professional judges. It is this pedantry that allowed the competition to become one of the most authoritative in the professional community — the IBC award is synonymous with the highest quality for many sellers and buyers. Given the ever-growing popularity of beer, it helps to develop the best brands in the industry. For our part, we do our best to reward the most worthy varieties of different styles."
