The results of the European Beer Star 2015 international competition were announced on November 11 in Munich. The popular Russian lager Baltika 3 won gold, whereas the wheat beer Baltika 8 has been awarded with bronze.
The European Beer Star competition is called the Champions League in the brewing world for its status and importance. The competent jury consists of 115 international experts from 27 countries including brewers, sommeliers, and field specialists.
This year, during the two-day blind tasting at the Doemens Brewing Academy in Gräfelfing, Bavaria, the jury evaluated a total of 1,957 beer samples from 45 countries to select the top three in each of the 55 categories.
By the decision of the jury, the classic lager Baltika 3 was honored with the gold award in the European-Style Mild Lager category (the Euro pale lager beer style), whereas the wheat beer Baltika 8 has been awarded with bronze in the South German-Style Hefeweizen Hell category (the south German style of wheat unfiltered beer).

Beer brands of Baltika Brewery have been honored with more than 650 awards at the international and Russian contests. The company pays special attention to the quality issues: new equipment was installed at Baltika factories, the advanced quality management systems were implemented, and only the best raw materials and water purified with specialized treatment systems are used for the production.
