Boris Rykunov was born May 14 1961 in Voronezh.
After graduating from the Leningrad Technological Institute of the Refrigeration Industry with a degree as a mechanical engineer specializing in refrigerators and compressor installations, in 1989 Rykunov took a job as chief of the compressor station at a brewery which was then being set up (the future Baltika’s brewery). From 1990 through 1999, he was Chief Engineer of Baltika, then for two years he headed the production management at the Tulskoye Pivo brewery.

In 2001-2004, Boris Rykunov worked at Baltika Breweries in the position of Technical Director and Director of Technical Equipment and Logistics.In 2004 he was appointed Director of Logistics.

Since September 2006 he held the position of the Director of JSC Vena Brewery, since April 2007 - Director of Baltika-Vena Brewery. Since Septmber 2009 Boris Rykunov was appointed Director of Baltika-Rostov Branch.
