Igor Vasiliev was born in Leningrad in 1969.

He graduated from the Leningrad Institute of the Refrigeration Industry with a degree in mechanical engineering and a specialisation in low temperature physics and technologies. He holds an MBA in the field of innovation and project management from the Academy of the National Economy, Government of the Russian Federation

Igor Vasiliev began his career at Baltika Breweries in 1998 as a metalworker and repair mechanic. In the years that followed, he participated in the implementation of investment projects in Tula, Rostov-on-Don and Khabarovsk. During 2003 and 2004, he held the post of Deputy Director, Chief Engineer of the brewery in Rostov. In July 2004, he was appointed Director of the Baltika-Rostov subsidiary. Beginning in November 2006, he headed the department for project implementation within the technical management directorate at Company headquarters.

On 21 July 2008, Igor Vasiliev was appointed to the position of Director of the Baltika-Yaroslavl subsidiary.
